Prologo OneTouch bar tape

Textured soft-feel handlebar tape

BikeRadar score 4/5

Prologo call their material ‘Polygrip’, but it’s essentially a polyurethane outer sandwiching a foam core. Included are two 2.3m rolls, end plugs, shifter strips and finishing tape strips. The package weighs 98g.

The highly textured surface feels less rubbery than some all-weather grips. Its foam core is just over 2mm thick with sharp, short tapers – making it relatively thick over a wide surface area. It feels soft, too, so it’s a good choice for endurance riders.

With a little more stretch than other tapes, this is easier to wrap. It’s fairly deep over a broad area and the wide adhesive backing is secure too – but you do need to take some care when fitting.

The diamond-cut pattern provides a tenacious grip in any weather, and is much better in the wet than cork tape. Its surface holds more dirt than some, but it’s easy to clean. Its uniform texture makes it thick and resistant to accidental tearing and scuffs, but like any polyurethane tape it will rip if it hits tarmac at speed.
