My love affair with cycling began on the Trexlertown velodrome at age 7. I grew up travelling and racing on the track and on the road. I earned 11 national titles in various disciplines and was part of the US National Team. In college, I realized mountain biking could be fun and ever since have been enjoying racing and riding off-road. The longer, the better! Nothing beats an all-day ride with good friends on rocky singletrack in the national and state forests throughout the Appalachian Mountains. After many years of freelance writing, I joined Cyclingnews in 2006. When not riding or writing about other people riding, I enjoy teaching yoga.
