Ay Up Roadie Kit | $240
BikeRadar verdict
"Raw, but they work a treat. Refinement would get these five stars"
With a lithium polymer battery and the latest Cree XRE LED assemblies wrapped up in a neat system with two independently adjustable lights, this is a breath of fresh air in the lighting market.
The Roadie Kit offers more than enough light and a run time that outperforms anything at this price point. The beam pattern could do with being more controlled though, and the side visibility isn’t the best.
A remote switch would be nice (the on/off switch on the battery could be used by AyUp as a bar mounted switch), but there’s also a switchless option available for classic ‘one less thing to go wrong’ durability.
All in all we’re impressed with these lights.

Puzzled by the raw comment?
These are quality lights, they are fantastic, Great output, nothing fancy to go wrong and a true 6hr run time. The kit includes spares, a second bike mount, helmet mount, car charger and all packed in a very good neoprene case. They are fully waterproof and backed by a no quibble guarantee. delivery is fast and customer service impressive.
At double the price they would be impressive but at this price they are a steal.

i'd love to know how some of the journo's who write theses reviews get the job in the first place."Raw, but they work a treat. Refinement would get these five stars" some people are not happy unless they have more buttons to press than the uss Enterprise and a slew of features that always go wrong. Ayup make some of the best value bang for buck lights around. 99% of the field at any enduro event will be using these lights. is'nt that testimony enough.

Update to my previous review. Undoubtably great lights but now really let down by the fact UK buyers have to deal with the other side of the world - and this includes paying Oz tax and then UK VAT and import duty on getting the lights here. If you're unlucky, and it's likely given that Ay Up use couriers to ship, then you could end up paying quite a bit extra for the lights. And if you need spares then you get hit again.
There are plenty of other lights with good UK sellers and ready availability of spares without the need to deal at a distance. I loved my Ay Ups but I really am sorry they've dropped a UK supplier and as such will shop elsewhere.

as soon as i read the reviews on these lights i searched for them, i could only get them from australia which included delivery but if this was the way then that was fine, so that was an extra £25 on top of the £150, still ok at this point, then having weighed up the battery decided i needed the 6 hr and the pouch, still no problem, until that is today when i got a letter from tnt saying that it was costing me another £42 and something for buying them from abroad and off the internet, if only i'd known, so i now will end up with another bill when my spare battery pack comes, so all in all it will have cost me nearly £250, or maybe more i'll have to wait and see, when looking at the reviews i considered the cateye single shot plus, how i wish i'd gone for that, so to sumarise, great lights let down by all the taxes, if i was you i would buy something else !

well i just thought i should update my review as i have changed my mind somewhat, firstly in the end the lights did cost me over £300, which was quite a bit more than the £149 altho i did buy a spare battery, anyway i have been using them on my commute now for a month now and used them before on morning training rides and i have to say that i am impressed with these lights, nearly every car you meet dip there headlamps which you will agree is a def plus point, they are very powerful lights and take up virtually no room, they are very well made and thought out. All in all they are probably worth the money i had to spend in the end and i am pleased with them, so if you have the money and know about the taxes to come then you won't be disappointed with the product

But for £300 you could have got just about any light you wanted from the UK.

BE WARNED..........finally received my import duty bill from TNT..........£71..!!!
As mentioned above, great lights but these kind of costs are far too high.
Feeling ever so slightly ripped off... :o(
