Ergon GR2 Magnesium grips | £37
BikeRadar verdict
"Excellent grips with useful extra hand position."
Bars ends aren't dead! By incorporating a locking grip and a minimal but handy extension into one unit, Ergon breathes new life into an idea that everyone thought was gone for good.
Even though the extension is magnesium, the pair weighs 282g, which will deter weight weenies. For general riding, we think the extra grams are worth the improved comfort and extra hand position. Serious weight weenies should look at the carbon version, which is lighter.
The real selling point here is Ergon's super-comfy ergonomic grips, which come as part of the unit. They need careful adjustment to get the position just right, but once they're tweaked they reduce hand and forearm fatigue.
They also have an unexpected bonus. They're stiff enough that should you need to get right back off the bike, you can rest on the lobe to give yourself a couple more centimetres of rearward movement.
They're available in small and large grip sizes.
