Children’s bike specialist Frog Bikes and Team Sky have joined forces to launch a new range of high-performance lightweight kids’ bikes.

The Team Sky-branded bikes will go on sale this Autumn, priced between £100 and £400, and are designed to encourage children to enjoy cycling rather than being encumbered by heavy, unsuitable gear.

The range will include bikes for children aged two to 14 years, taking youngsters from learning to ride up to racing level. The new Team Sky Frog stable begins with a balance bike and also features a first pedal bike along with variously sized hybrid and road bikes to suit growing kids.

Frog says each bike features a lightweight frame and componentry designed specifically for younger riders – such as slim-grip brakes and narrow handlebars – while also carrying the distinctive Team Sky black, white and blue detailing to help youngsters feel like a pro.

Jerry Lawson of Frog Bikes said: "Frog Bikes is dedicated to making cycling fun and accessible for children of all ages, so we're over the moon to be collaborating with Team Sky. With our shared passion for performance, design and a love of cycling, we are excited to launch this brand new range of high-quality and lightweight kids' bikes to make cycling more fun for children"

Joel Keoghan, head of brand at Team Sky, added: “From the start of Team Sky one of our main ambitions was to help inspire more people, of all ages and abilities, to get on their bikes and enjoy cycling.

“The exciting next step for us is to work closely with Frog to help create the new range of Team Sky Kids’ Bikes to encourage the next generation of cyclists to get out and enjoy the freedom of cycling. The precision and rigor that goes into producing each Frog Bike is very impressive and is one of the main reasons we decided to join forces with them.

“As a team, we’re known for our dedication in leaving nothing to chance and looking for every small improvement, so it’s important that we work with like-minded partners who share the same principles.”
