Information on that and on the design of the bicycles, docking stations and terminals, will be released later this year.

Sounds good so far, but we haven't heard anything of relevance, i.e cost. The whole scheme will live or die by the burden on your wallet. The price of a zone 1 single on Oyster ranges from £1.60 - £2.20, so pricing needs to be competitive with this. Paris' system is free for the first 30mins and Vienna's long standing system is free for the first hour, which is great but needs subsidisation.
An Oyster usage system would be great, but would have to be accountable, you can't just have someone on an anonymous pay-as-you-go card walking away with a new bike for the price of a zone 1 single.
