Welcome...

By Matthew Cole

BikeRadar.com pulls together all the news, reviews, and features you could ask for on what we believe is the world's most comprehensive cycling website.

Brought to you by the creators of MBUK, Cycling Plus, What Mountain Bike and Procycling magazines, we've got a massive database of bikes and gear, a useful health and fitness tips section, buying guides, the latest news and race results and a whole lot more.

There's a constantly updated routes section which, at the latest count, contained nearly 50,000 routes from right across the globe - we mean it when we say the world is for riding.

So, how does it all work?

BikeRadar is divided into six sections:

- News - all the latest stories from across the biking world;

- Bikes and Gear - reviews, product exclusives and buying advice;

- Racing - all the big races, all the big names on-road and off;

- Routes - if you want to share or find a route, this is the place to do it;

- Fitness - top advice on health, training, nutrition, and technique;

- Forums - the liveliest bike chat on the web. The BikeRadar forums have over 70,000 members - why not join?

Tailor the site to your type of riding

You can filter BikeRadar according to your particular 'tribe' if you wish. Just use the homepage as the starting point of your journey and browse the site according to your riding taste - road, mountain bike, commuting or beginners and family.

If you're more interested in mountain biking, simply click on the Mountain bike tab in the top navigation bar and everything from the homepage down is filtered just for mountain biking. Our gear browser will soon have this filtering option too. You can, of course, also filter the site for Road content, Commuting, and Beginners and Family.

Register and get involved

In order to comment on reviews, rate products and contribute to the forums, you need to be a member of the site. Registering is very easy, just go to the registration page. You can sign up to the BikeRadar.com newsletter here too - the newsletter is expertly put together to show off the best of the site and will include subscriber-only competitions and offers. Please note that if you were a member on our old sites, your membership details have been carried across to BikeRadar.com. Any problems, email us on help@bikeradar.com.

Routes

The excellent bikely.com site will soon be fully integrated with BikeRadar, which will allow you to draw, import and download your favourite routes into your GPS. Currently this can only be done through bikely.com.

Buy and Sell bike kit

There's a classifieds section on the site for you to buy and sell bike-related kit. All you need to do is register to start trading.

Other useful stuff

We've recently added RSS feeds and social bookmarking functions to BikeRadar.

RSS feeds are a simple way to subscribe to our stories so you don't miss anything on the site. When you subscribe to a feed it appears either in your browser or, if you want to get even deeper into the world of news feed, in a dedicated feed-reader application.

Social bookmarking is an easy way to share your favourite BikeRadar stories with the world. Click on one of the links at the end of a story and you'll be taken to the site - CycleCluster, Digg, del.icio.us, reddit, Facebook or StumbleUpon - where you can then tell the world.

Our route-mapping sister site Bikely.com has also gained a terrific new feature: road-following route creation. You can now simply click on two points and Bikely will draw a route following all the intermediate roads. This makes it far quicker and easier to draw routes.
