Fancy seeing a magazine editor or two riding a bike?

Okay, maybe that's not the most tempting invitation currently open to you so how about 'Fancy test riding some great road bikes in a beautiful setting?' That's better isn't it? The Bike Demo Days kick off in Dalby Forest on Sunday and I'd love to see you!

If you want to know what Trek's new Madone 5.2 feels like at full speed, or want to discover if Raleigh will be putting the Great back into Britain's bikes with its latest Airlite then the Bike Demo Days are for you.

The first ever road Bike Demo Day is on Sunday October 26 – that'll be this Sunday then! – at Dalby Forest in Yorkshire. As well as machines from Trek and Raleigh, we'll also have bikes from Italian masters Colnago and French legends Lapierre. Head to the Bike Demo Day website, check out the great bikes on offer and book yourself a riding slot.

Come Sunday you'll be able to put these brilliant bikes through their paces on the exhilirating forest drive at Dalby. I'll be there too, but don't let that put you off...and if you're really nice I'll let you see how my wheelying skills are coming on. (Oh and if you can't make Sunday, then on November 2 we've another Demo Day, this time at Hillingdon's awesome bike racing  circuit).

Editor-in-Chief, Cycling Plus, Cycling Plus Magazine
Editor-in-chief Rob has been pedalling Cycling Plus since 2007. His first proper road bikes were a Raleigh Sprint in the early 1980s and then a Trek 1000 in 1999. A former competitive runner, Rob has repeatedly threatened to become a competitive cyclist in every discipline from time-trailling to hill climbing to bike polo. We're still waiting.
  • Discipline: Road. Mainly commuting but with the occasional mountainous sportive that he'll complain about/fail to complete. Enjoys cake stops. Will never, ever do another triathlon after a bad experience in open water.
  • Preferred Terrain: Gently undulated roads – he's more of a rouleur. Likes gravel.
  • Current Bikes: BMC Alpenchallenge, Viner Perfecta, BMC Granfondo GF0, anything shiny that Warren Rossiter will allow him to ride
  • Dream Bike: Bianchi Specialissima, Raleigh Banana
  • Beer of Choice: Innis and Gunn Original
  • Location: Bath, UK
