Marc Beaumont assesses his Fort William performance

It's a case of form-building ahead of the Worlds

FortWilliam has got to be one of the hardest races on the World Cup circuit. Coming into this one I had no points on the board, I was carrying an injury which I was unsure of and British Team selection was resting on this race. Backs to the wall? Understatement of the century!

I decided to miss the first day of practice as I know where the course goes, pretty much. On Thursday, the second day of practice, I did three runs taking it nice and steady and checking lines. Straight away it felt like a big improvement on last weekend in Anodora.

Slowly building my speed during practice I steadily got faster, qualifying 27th on Sunday with a good, solid run. I managed to pick it up in the finals and came in 14th. I now feel like I have got a result to build on for the rest of the season and I also got myself a place on the Worlds team which is great. I'm really looking forward to that, the Worlds is always a great event.
