MBUK discover lesser-spotted Ashton

At MBUK, we're not super human. We get wound up by winter as much as the next man so fed up of kicking around the office last week Doddy, Jamer and Ric loaded up the Citroen Dispatch and headed for Wales.
We'd heard a lot about the new Energy section on White's Level in Afan and decided that it was as good a place as any to blow away the winter cakes and cobwebs.
After the guts of a day playing on the new section and over-coming various disasters along the way (see this month's MBUK for the full, gory story) we came upon one of the rarest sights in British wildlife...
At first we thought it was some sort of angry badger or just a pissed up dear but as it got closer it became clear it was something completely different...it was Martyn Ashton.
Yep, the hero of UK trials was running towards us through a downhill section pushing a full-sus bike!
As it turned out he'd been trying to keep up with us (we like to think) and had punctured just at the top of the brand new, ultra-fun section. Gutted.
Being the understanding types we are we helped him change his tube and let him school us around the rest of the ride...we did...really!
