Stay Strong for Stephen Murray auction result!

MBUK readers raise cash for a worthy cause

Our auction for Stephen Murray's Stay Strong charity ended this week with a blinding result.

More than £300 has been raised for Stephen thanks to the generous readers who bid on our package of Stay Strong limited edition items.

Bike designer Brant Richards of Shedfire was the auction winner, bagging all three items for £165. After ebay took their cut that leaves us with £159.18 to donate to the fund. And our nice bosses at Future Publishing will match fund that, bringing the grand total to £318.36.

A Santini Stay Strong riding jersey, Stay Strong Penthouse Flat pedals and ODI Stay Strong grips are winging their way to Brant right now.

Stephen was a pro-BMXer with a top-flight career until an accident in competition left him paralysed and in a wheelchair.

The Stay Strong foundation was set up to pay for Stephen's medical bills, and put him back on the road to recovery. He's already got some movement in his fingers and thumbs and he is determined to walk again one day.

We'd like to thank everyone who bid, and also the guys at Fisher Outdoor, Burgtec and ODI who donated their products for the auction.

We're expecting more Stay Strong gear to come out later this year, and we'll bring you the news as it happens. In the meantime, if you want to support Stephen check out the tees, caps and more you can buy from his site right now.

You can follow MBUK on Twitter and become our fan on Facebook. If you like that sort of thing.
