My evening ride on Friday was the highlight of the week from a cycling perspective. Within five miles of my house, which is on the edge of
I spent a lot of time looking downwards, seeing what the variety of clicks on the gears did to the actual gears, and being really impressed with the lack of clonking and the ease with which the gears did their thing, even if it wasn’t always what I wanted them to do, but I am sure that will come with practice. I am going to get my girly saddle put on the new bike though as I don’t know whether its just me or most ladies but I don’t like sitting on a chisel.
My other highlight was finding out that after my near death experience of the Evans Ride it! Short version, I found out that the course was 35, not 30 miles, and that my time of 2 hrs 28 mins 3 and a half seconds, averaging 14.2mph, was the 17th fastest out of all one hundred of the amateurs who did the short version, and the second fastest female time, so I was chuffed to bits with that for my first ever cycling event. That was on my old bike, so who knows what I will achieve on the Verenti Millook?
