The Beat Steve Peat Race Andy Dunwoody
Ever thought that you could give Sheffield's finest a run for his money? Reckon you're as quick as Steve Peat? No, neither do we but what we would be interested in is finding out how close we could get to the big man. Now, thanks to The Racers Guild, you can find out exactly that.
The Beat Steve Peat race is to be held in Cannock Chase on November 15th and will benefit the Athlete Recovery Fund (ARF) along with the Stephen Murray Family Fund.
Peaty will be running in the first timed session of the day throwing down the gauntlet to all challengers to beat Steve Peat!
The Racers Guild have been at the helm of a steadily growing group of riders who meet once a month for an informal 'race' session. We say 'race' because the usual stresses and strains of a race weekend are kicked right out the door. You simply turn up, have a play on one of the eight short DH tracks and then take a timed run when it's your turn. Simple.
It's up to you how many runs you do with all the other tracks open to have a play on all day there's no standing or waiting about. The result is a completely informal, chilled out atmosphere of riders simply having good fun riding and competing against their mates.
The Racer's Guild are hoping to raise £3,000 for their two chosen charities through the event sponsorship and rider donations. Entry is free but there are only 100 spaces up for grabs so get yourself over to their website post haste and sign on to take on the man himself!
