The MBUK Spirit Awards

This year Mountain Biking UK is looking for someone special. Pedigree race winners and show pony's need not apply -  we want the riders who best sum up all that's good about British mountain biking.

At this summer’s biggest events, winning is no longer everything. We're after the people who battle on against mechanical diversity, those who show exceptional talent/bravery/insanity and those who simply stop and help mend punctures without a thought for their own targets.

We will have our ‘spotters’ out in force eagerly seeking out those riders who make the difference on the day and nominating them for the MBUK Spirit Awards. Each winner will be announced in the latest edition of the magazine alongside a running results table throughout the summer. Everyone who makes the table will win a year’s subscription, receive a special certificate and be in with a chance at being crowned top dog and overall MBUK Spirit winner come the year’s end.

That person will then star in an MBUK feature along with receiving a very special trophy and prize plus a days’ riding with us lot!

The Merida Marathon Series  is one of Britain's most popular mountain bike race series and consists of five rounds its contains some epic rides and offers novices and experts alike the chance to push themselves and their bikes to the limits.

The Kona Mash-Up made it's own mark last year with it's debut event. The second coming promises yet more staged rally-style racing and an awesome party atmosphere. This is an event not to be missed and a definite must for all the trail-slayers out there.

Bristol Bike Fest remains one of the South's premier summer events with both six and twelve hour marathon races. Ashton Court in Bristol is the venue so expect excellent facilities, camping and lightning-fast singletrack.

Can you be the rider that carries the spirit of mountain biking on their shoulders this summer?!
