Dirty Dog Parts arrive from the US of A!

Ric Mclaughlin Thursday, Nov 8, 2007 11.37am

At MBUK Towers we're used to having lush pieces of top-end, spangly bike candy land on our desks. We get the odd bit of tat too but what the boys at the post room delivered to us the other day is pure cycling Marmite...

We first spied Dirty Dog Parts in one of the US mags and didn't really think much more about them until now!

Taking the current trend of custom-cut brake rotors to the wider market, Dirty Dog offer a range of 'whacky' designs ranging from 'Bone Burner' to 'Tadpole' (it was mentioned however, that 'Tadpole' does look a bit like sperm).

Weight-wise, the Dirty Dog rotors weighed the same in 160mm form that standard Avid rotors do in 185mm size.

We could tell you about how the rotors are cut using the newest CO2 lasers and all the subsequent stress relieving processes involved but let's face it; if you like these rotors then you'll buy them!

Also included from the boys across the pond were the Skull Bucket cable guides. Now, if you like detailing, these may be for you but in reality they're just decorations for cable ties.

It's worth pointing out too that if they're used for preventing brake hoses from rubbing on forks then the cable ties themselves will simply rub somewhere else. Again though, if you like them, you like them!

It's fair to say that Dirty Dog kit is not for the 'racer-heads' out there but if your in the market for something a little different then check out their UK distributor at www.ronnoko.co.uk for more info.
