Gusset Bachelor Chain Tensioner | $25.84
BikeRadar verdict
"Not the most versatile conversion kit, but works"
By Dave Atkinson
We used these two gadgets to convert an urban bike to a singlespeed.
The 1-ER kit replaces your cassette with two asymmetric washers, giving you a choice of two chainlines for your single sprocket; other kits offer more flexibility.
The Bachelor tensioner, is bolted rather than sprung and its limited adjustability makes it tricky to set up. But once you have, it works well and the nylon roller is pretty quiet.
- Singlespeed converter kit £17.99
- Chain tensioner £11.99
