Action sports helmet company Bern has dabbled in the bike world before, marketing some of its lids to cyclists, but the new Allston (US$89/£75) is the first helmet the company has created specifically for riders.
The Allston retains Bern's signature shell-and-bill look, with liquid-injected foam technology that the brand calls Zip Mold. It also makes for a relatively light helmet, at a claimed 13oz (369g).
Sixteen vents double the airflow compared to a standard Bern helmet, the company claims. The Allston also comes with a removable cold-weather liner.
