Just In: Fixie Inc Chip Race 953
This geared racing bike from German manufacturer Fixie Inc has been getting a lot of attention in the office since its arrival and it’s not hard to see why.
As the name suggests, the frame is made from Reynolds 953 steel and in its current guise is super lightweight and dripping with top-notch components and finishing kit from the likes of SRAM and Ritchey.
The bike is available to buy as a frame-only option for 2,129 euros.
We’re big fans of the graphics and frame finish on the bike and we’re looking forward to seeing how it performs on the road.
Cycling Plus magazine will have a full review soon.

So its a geared bike with 'fixie' on it. And the model is the 'chip race' ?
Something lost in translation maybe ?

haha, slighty ironic name, has to be said.
But nice to see a steel road bike, and a good looking one too.
€2129 (frame only) does seem like quite a lot of money for steel through, even of it is reynolds 953.. must be good stuff i guess

I'd feel a bit of a tool riding a bike that had gears and said fixie, whatever the intended meaning.

I agree - it does look a nice bike - just that the names on it seem a bit cack. Its like some of those Japanese car models where they have picked English words that may look cool in Japan - but not in the English speaking world :
Anyone for the Isuzu Mysterious Utility Wizard ?
Or the Honda Joy Machine ?

Call me a retro-grouch or carbon-fiend, but those graphics are a bit too loud for me. I think I've been conditioned into mostly black carbon and retro-look modern steel frames.
Oh well, in true fixster fashion, one could always do a rattle can job or take it to the powder coater.
