Dauphine 2: George Hincapie takes sprint

American George Hincapie of Team High Road won the second stage of the Dauphine Libere, a 184km run from Bourg-Saint-Andeol to Vienne Tuesday. Hincapie attacked in the final corner and held off the charging peloton for victory.

Norwegian Thor Hushovd holds onto the leader's jersey by just one second over Alejandro Valverde, with American Levi Leipheimer in third an additional four seconds back.

Hincapie's efforts sprung him into fourth place, just 13 seconds behind Hushovd. The peloton transitions into time trial mode with a 31km race against the clock in Saint-Paul-en-Jarez Wednesday.
