160 travel forks with a bolt thru
headtube length 195 if poss, 1 and 1/8
seatpost 27.2
and a strong back wheel (got the front from e-bay)

top swing is the pivot point of the mech, top pull is the cable routing around the mech, but most are both these days.
Top swing and bottom swing depend on your frame clearance and seat tube bottle boss positioning.

I'm pretty sure the last two XT front mechs i bought, could be operated by a top or bottom pull.

ah ok, just get a dual pull one and all will be fine

why not ask some other patriot users what they're running? i used to have an older patrot but i never had a front mech on there...
