I have just got an open sport to replace my back rim and have heard good things about them plus will be doing the re-build myself.

ive got some cxp22 & some open pro the pros r nicer i tour on 36 hole open pro , me 100+kgs + loaded bike no probs ever . give harry rowland a call on 01843597443 he,s the best around

+1 for the Open Pro's. Got both my sets from Ribble, one set built on Record, the other on Centaur.
True as the day I bought them, no issues.

Another +1 for Open Pros. I had mine built around Ultegra hubs and they have been bombproof. Excellent braking surface on the rims.

Mate rides open sports, i ride cpx22, neither of us have had any issues.
Mine are coming to the end of their life but they've done a lot of miles.
Build quality is FAR more important than which particular rim you've got.

Rigda Chrinas are cheaper than an open sport and stronger than an open pro
They weigh slightly (maybe 50g) more but that is weight in a good way

I have CXP22's (25c tyres) on ultegra hubs for the road bike and A719 on XT's (28c) on the hack.
I'm happy with both although the 719's seem a bit bendy when you're climbing.

Any good mail order wheel builders doing these?
I was looking at these 2 from ribble. Budget is as little over £100 as poss, below is even better.

I've warped a handbuilt rear Open Sport rim - possibly due to bad luck on a pothole or just because I'm a heavy knacker - and won't use them again. I've used handbuilt CXP 33s, 32h, on Ultegra hubs and am a big fan. Have also used them for cyclo cross.

Harry Rowland built me a pair of Rigida Chrinas on Novatec hubs. Very happy, think they were about £180 for the pair all in.
