Hi

I have a GT Zaskar Expert 2007 with RockShox Recon 351 forks. Are thes the solo air of U-turn?

The spec says 85mm when i bought the bike, can they be adjusted to say 100mm

Pics can be found here http://rubberfrog.myvnc.com/gtforks/index.html

Thanks

RF

I'd say they're U-turn (you adjust the travel by turning the knob on the top of the left leg, yeah? then they're U-turn)

as for solo air or dual; is there a valve on the bottom of the right hand leg? If so it's dual air. If the only valve is on the top, its solo air.

it can be solo air and uturn at the same time

Yes there is a valve on the bottom right. so I adjust with the top left knob sorry to be a pain which way does what, I dont want to knack the forks.

Thay are probably solo air, and the travel can be increased internaly.
And I don't think that solo air and u-turn are combined together in one fork.

But if it says U-turn on the left knob then they are U-turn.

so lets see a picture of the top of the left side of the fork as that will show you if it is air or coil.

also if the fork is a U turn they tend to have travle marking on the leg.

fork legs are defined left or right when seated on the bike.

bottom of the right leg should be your rebound adjuster.

left leg should be nothing other than the foot nut.

Unscrew the plastic thing on that fork leg to reveal the valve. Buy a shock pump to adjust.

You can probably raise the travel to 100 or 120/130 by removing spacers from the
inside of the fork. If you are not confident doing it by yourself, take it to some decent lbs
to do the job for you. It's a good fork and every penny is worth it, imo.

The fork, if it has travel adjust will either be capable of 85/100/115mm of travel.

At 85mm there will be a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 2 spacers in the +ve air chamber, you increse the travel by removing said spacers.

May I suggest that you take them to a decent bike shop to get this done.

There's nothing like independant brand frames, yey!
