Hi guys,

Maybe someone can help me with advice.

After last competition my disc brakes Hayes Stroker Trail were full of dirts and was not working anymore. The front brakes were ok, but rear ones were just terrible and I couldn't clean them out. There was small stone stucked between brake pads which didn'd allow to remove them out.

So to get it out I unscrewed brakes, but as you can guess, once hydraulic disc brakes are unscrewed then they will not work anymore. Probably because the air gets in? (just a gueass, I really don't know)

What should I do to repair them and get working properly?

you need to bleed the brakes.

download the manual from the hayes web site.

I should also add there is a ggod chance that you will have got fluid over the pads and the discs?

pads will need replacing and the rotor and caliper body cleaned with isopropyl alcohol or a suitable bike disc cleaner.

That's what I suspected, just hoped that there can be an easier solution. I guess time to bleed them has come anyway. Two seasons they have worked well, but at the end of this season they started to be more loose and not so sharp as they used to be.

Disc pads and rotors are ok. no fluid there (just water during race and afterwards, when bike was cleaned).
