I want a £1000 hardtail to replace my Rockhopper. The Rockhopper has been great but the low BB has caught me out a few times. Is there a suitable replacement with a higher BB? I will be purchasing via the CycleScheme operated by my employer.

I think it was 299mm on a 19" frame

GT Avalanches (I think) are higher.

But when on the bike stuff like fork sag, tyre volume and pressure and crank length (and pedal depth) all add up.

Maybe try a bigger volume tyre and less sag?
