Also...

More to come including a clipless pedal system and a GoPro HD Hero on board camera in the coming months...

Winter ready Allez Sport '09
FCN: 5 - Hairy legged roadie in baggies.

a Canterbury base layer

Let us know what it's like; fit, how warm etc.

I've just ordered another 2* Skins long-sleeve base layers. Quite like the look of the Canterbury stuff though & it's easier on the wallet than Skins I bet.

I have worn it to work and back and it seems to do the job very well. It's comfortable, well fitted and warm (I got the slightly contrarily-labelled "cold" s/l base layer, which is apparently for cold weather). No complaints for £20.

My '900' lumen Magicshine light arrived from Hong Kong yesterday..3.5 weeks waiting. It's 10 times better than I expected...smaller, lighter, and better build quality than I ever imagined.

I was on the verge or ordering one of them, but as I have AYUP's already, I think I am going to go for a selection of torches from DX for additonal lights on the bonce and bars, and then I think it gives me more flexibility.

Endura MT500 - people seem to like how durable these are. We shall see - tried Endura stuff before and I didn't really like it, but they're only overshoes eh?

SG - I had a pair of the basic Endura overshoes, and I have to say the bottoms did not last very long before they started going through.
I repaired them with needlework and lots of gaffertape, which prolonged their life for a year though.

The MT500's look more sturdy, so would be interested to hear how you get on,

Dan

I got a pair of the MT500s a year or so ago and they've had a fair bit of wear. The bottom bit and toe area is much more sturdy than the cr@ppy Nike ones I had before. The only problem I've had is that the zip broke on one a couple of days ago. Going to buy the Endura Luminites for the slightly warmer weather, but will probably get some new MT500s for the depths of winter.

MT500s are the best overshoes I've ever used. Most have fallen apart straight away.

I was tempted by the lovely Castelli Diluvio pictured there, but I asked a Q on the Wiggle site and someone told me it's road shoe only, and I've got MTB shoes Crying or Very sad

Mind you, BikeRadar had a preview in the news section and the Diluvio overshoe looked a bit crap there, to be honest.

Bought my rear hub spacers, sprocket and chain for "the world's slowest singlespeed conversion". Here's hoping my parcel dodges the worst of any strike backlogs Wink

I've worn mine twice and the elastic has gone on one of the sole openings. I'm unimpressed, but will be sending them back for an exchange rather than a refund.

Yesterday my Ortlieb Velocity (Yellow / Black) arrived. Very, very happy with it, just needs some reflective tape plastering all over it and it will be perfect.

FCN - 5 and now handing out free scalps.

Just got hold of another Baselayer (you can never have enough).

Got hold of the Gore Leg Warmers to see if i stick with them for this winter, I've used them once and apart from startup problems where they were round my knee's they were comfortable and kept me knees lovely and warm.

Also got a Charge Spoon Saddle as I just get along with Spesh one that comes with the bike.

IMO the best to avoid this is to put the leg/knee warmers before you put your sorts on. That seems to do it for me.

I did and they only came down once, bout 5 minutes after i set off, they were fine for the rest of the ride home.

On another note, got more lighting to see me in the dark, the good old Lumipac, they are surprisingly bright

My bottom bracket is the right one, woohoo! According to Wiggle customer service, anyway, who have been excellent and helpful (thank you Toby).

I've just been browsing, as is my wont, Chain Reaction's sale section, and came across a really nice black and white jacket. A bargain, perhaps? Well, no - £440 for Campy's "11 speed thermo" jacket.

Anyone got more money than sense?

"11 Speed: For those who wish to be unique, in a class of their own. Always."

An 11 speed jacket, that'll justify the cost then Laughing

Ok, wore them home tonight and my feet were absolutely soaking. They just filled up with water after about 20 minutes.

Wore my MT500's home for the first time tonight.

Overall, pretty good Smile Feet felt snug and warm, and most importantly their dry. Not 100% dry, but 90% or so !!

I find that the bits that go up your leg aren't as snug (Maybe I've just got skinny legs!) but it didn't seem to let much in so overall I'm happy. Lets just hope they last.

Always been fine for me. Bit too warm for summer, but no issues otherwise.

I like bikes...
