I'd go for the Mongoose out of those.

I got a Giant Terrago Disc from Wheelies (Hardrock insurance replacement) and think it's a great bike! I don't know whether they still do them though.

The hardrocks are good solid bikes

Hi,
I got a Hardrock Disc 2010 from Wheelies Direct as an insurance replacement for my Carrera Vulcan Disc Spec that was stolen after 10 days of ownership. Can't fault the new bike and it's great fun to ride. Can't help with comments on the other choices.
Good luck.

Thank you for all your replies.
I think it will be either the Specialized or Mongoose that I go for, having a tough time deciding which though!

my 14 year old son just got a hardrock comp disc (£449) off wheelies as replacement for a 2007 Tyax Super which was stolen and I am really impressed with his new bike. We went out on it as soon as he got it .He rode my Rocky Ridge while I put it through its paces and I thought it was a really well put together bike. It also looks far better in real life than it does on tinternet!
Funny thing happened tho the other day. about 2 weeks after my son got the bike, I got a call from wheelies to say they had mistakenly offered me a higher spec bike than he was allowed due to a £350 insurance limit. They asked me for an extra £80.99 for the hardrock - I told them I wasn't prepared to pay any extra and told them that, if they wanted, they could come and collect his (now well broken in) hardrock and swap it for a comparable one.
they said they couldn't do that as the bike was now second hand. I explained that this left THEM with a problem and thanked them for their call!.

Just given them a call, seems that the Speicliazed is out of stock, so I think I will go for the Mongoose, which has a slightly better spec with wider tyres, more gears and 100mm lock out fork.

Could you add any more £ on top of the £350?

Got my new Mongoose Tyax today, pretty happy with it, but I have a problem with the insurance company.
They are claiming the policy is now invalid as I've made a claim, and to re-instate it they want me to pay the premium again and an admin charge on top of that.
Does anyone know if this practice is normal? I've never had to make a claim on a bicycle policy before. It seems quite unfair as from my perspective I have paid for a years cover.
