ti will be stiffer and lighter
but alu wull give more flex to the frame
for a 4x bike you want a alu as the shock will be dispersed through the frame rather than vibrating it if its a ti

It's the other way round 4x
an aluminium frame is stiffer than a ti frame, and is a harsher ride, Ti has more spring to it.... more whippy/springy

Is the Ti really stiffer than the alu one? Have you ridden them both? Ti is usually a pretty forgiving material, so was kinda curious about your last statement.

yeah ti is similar to steel in ride quality but lighter and stronger, it has more flex and absorbs the bumps a little more. If you think that's worth the extra £500 then go for it. Personally i'd go for the alu model and spend the extra £500 maybe on upgrades

I dunno, if i could afford it without massively compromising the spec then i'd go for the Ti frame, then you can gradually upgrade it!

for 250 price difffernce, I'd go Ti over Alu every time unless there's a special reason not to (i'd be interested how the two frames ride, side by side. More often the price diff is more in the relms of 500-700 so 250 sounds loke a bargoon.

You may not even be able top get a Ti frame as they are limited edition of 1000 and may already be sold out, have you found a place where you can buy both?
If you can buy the Ti, then practice like billyo to ensure your skills are up to your bike!

in the original post he said the price difference was £520, not £250
