I'm sure you could do it, but I would have thought the chances of puncturing would be pretty high, you would be pretty slow, and your legs would get knackered very quickly.

Thanks for all the great advice,

I bit the bullet and have gone for a Santa Cruz Nomad! Very Happy Got it for a good price, had it out at the weekend took a bit of getting used too, but by the end of the day I was loving it.

Its a rocket down the hills and not too bad on the evil climbs Very Happy Well pleased!

Hoping to do this myself, like you, in a couple of years time.

I'm looking at a Cube Fritzz myself. According to the review here, it's another bike built for this race. And it's good value (imo) and it looks niiiiice (again imo).

Er..... The winner was Remy Absalon on the new Carbon Meta, with a Trek and Lapierre in 2nd and 3rd, the highest placed Scott bikes were 11th and 12th.

I rode a genius, don't think it would do this sort of riding, the scotts were probably ransom's. That carbon Meta looks awesome too.

A lot of you guys seem to be running a triple for the mega

I am trying to decide on a double or triple for my patriot which I'm building with the mega in mind, any opinions?

Almost everyone I saw there was running either a double or single ring up front - I had a double and bash. Would def rather have a bash than a big ring personally.
