Do a google search for Dave Hinde and I think you'll find that generally it is a well known fact that their customer services isn't quite what it could be lol.
Bad luck.

Contact Trading Standards.
It won't the first time they would of been involved with Dave Hinde. Sure they have a judgement against them, perhaps in their previous guise, whatever that was.

Hi, I work for a mail order company. I can tell you that what they are doing is theft. If you ordered goods and for whatever reason decide you dont want them you are legally entitled to a refund. The fact thay have not shipped and kept your money is theft. Check the rule on distance selling also, his terms are illegal too I just checked, 14 days for a refund. If he charges for delivery he must refund the delivery to you also. If its free delivery then you are responsible. Go to trading standards tell them. They will give you a case number and the name of your contact. Get back intouch with the shop with those details and i am 99% sure you will get your money back. They cannot keep your cash. Hope this helps.

Use the forum search...
(i.e. Search next to Members List towards top right of screen)
Seach for Dave AND Hinde and see what you get - see other people's tales of woe and have a look at the feedback he's given to people on eBay...
And having done that, Google 'dave hinde trading standards' and see what that finds you...

Jesus, how is he still in business? Hate stuff like this, we work hard to make sure our customers are happy. Doesn't work 100% of the time, but we try. When you get people like this it stops people buying online ruining it for the other companies.

FWIW, I've bought quite a few things from Dave Hinde and never had a problem. Plus, I've found their after-sales service to be good.
If you do what andy_wrx suggests and google 'dave hinde trading standards', make sure you also google 'wiggle trading standards', ribble trading standards', chainreaction trading standards' etc. I've never had a problem with any of these bike shops but clearly many others have.
I suggest that you call and ask to speak with a manager at DH and I bet your issue will be resolved in 5 mins.

Funnily enough, in the interests of balance I did put 'wiggle trading standards' into google.
The first match was this page, the next two from the wiggle site and wiggle blog.
The next one called 'Probs with Dave Hinde mail order' from cyclingforums.com!

If he did this to some of the (motor)bikers I know he'd have had a couple of big fellas come round to break an arm, and put a dent in his flashy car, with threats of worse next time. And get a full refund in cash before they left.
Before ebay stopped sellers leaving negative feedback some of what he wrote about customers when selling as number1bikebits beggared belief. He either got banned or dropped the moniker. He's now trading as fastpartsforbikes. His shop in Northwich and his ebay IDs have prompted more complaints on this forum and its predecessor at C+ than all other traders put together.

Haha - "vindictive people don't get anywhere" is one of his funnier comments. The guy either is extremely unlucky with his clients - or he has issues.
Its not hard these days to check out a supplier - a quick google would have done it. Buyer beware !
