it is velcro, It took a good few attempts to get it right as it's nowhere near as stretchy as a normal lizard skin so getting it on tight takes some technique.

That will be cracking when built.
Have you used the sumo seatpost before? The reason I ask is because I had one on my Scale 20 and found the clamp to be crap, I had times when the saddle would tilt and on tightening it to stop it the plastic on the rail clamp cracked.

After having to use my kona again at the weekend I finally got round to starting to strip it down tonight, ready to move bits onto the Marin.
Also got a new XT front mech (the only part of the drive chain that wasn't XT):
Removed the wheels from the Kona:

Any updates Mac? I am like a big kid waiting for you to pull your finger out.....
By Wednesday, mine will be 'totally' finished.
Just fitted my new KCNC clamp
KCNC bottle cage bolts / Goodridge cable inner for my Pushloc / chain stay protector will be here tomorrow.
Still waiting for my bloody heli-tape to arrive that was ordered ages ago, I took her out for a blast the other day but the paint is quite delicate on our bikes, so would suggest that you get some too! Even if it's just for the downtube and toptube!

Nothing as yet, But I have most of the original parts, so I could build it back up (but the forks are MZ comp OEM - Worst Forks EVER and the brakes are cheap avid cable disc jobs - Worst Brakes EVER so may just sell the frame.

Finally got all the parts off the Kona tonight.
Cleaned up the Fox F100s, good as new!
Weighed the frames to compare (excuse the rubbish scales - not the most accurate!)
boths frames weighed with headset cups and seatpost clamps a bit of garden string.
The Old Kona weighed approx 6lbs, not too bad for a bike that only cost me just under 600 quid:
The Marin weights just under 4lbs:
