If people had the option of a DT EX500 and a Stans NoTubes ZTR Flow what would you go for? At the moment i roll on tubed kenda Nevegals and dont seem to suffer punctures as it is. Will i see any real advantage of the Stans rims?

There is a big price difference!

The Mavic XM819 is a lighter, but narrower option too for UST.

if it's the same price, definitely Stans

Stans are highly thought of then.

I have Olympics on my latest wheelset and love them. Light and Strong. If the Flow rim is anything like that, go for those.

Not used the dt but I run Hope pro3 with stan ztr355 and I love them [running tubeless] just about to order some more for my spare XC bike thats how good I think they are.But I do only use them for XC.If you are a heavier rider or ride slightly harder hitting trails i understand Flows would be better

Can only get flows on the AM4 wheel set. Unless i go for pro2 hubs. Not really sure but i need the option of the 20mm through axle on the front.

Pro 2 and Pro 3 AM4 come with 20mm hub kits if bought from www.wheelpro.co.uk, the stans sets also will come pre valved and rimstrips installed to go tubeless for free (£15 saving on buying seperately elswhere.

They're almost exactly the same weight, but Flows are quite a bit wider. Not ridden on my flows yet but they were incredibly easy to inflate tubelessly - even with non-UST tyres.

Not sure if you would see a huge benefit from tubeless if you don't get many punctures - I used to get the all the time and it's never a problem now. You can get away with lower pressures and get more grip with tubeless though.

Would people not worry at all about the flow rim not having eyelets for the spoke nipples? Just seems like a bit of a backward step? This area is making me lean towards the DT swiss ex500.

as the inner rim floor is solid you can not fit eyelets.

Thanks nick for that info.

What would you personally go for? and would the fact it does not run eyelets put you off?

Not sure i will ever move over to tubeless either.
