Doe anyone know of any good scenic London cycle rides?
The only one I ever do (other than my commute) is the Greenwich to London Bridge 'riverside' ride.
When I get my new bike i'm hoping to explore East London and the Isle of dogs etc, but wouldn't mind doing some West and North London rides too.

On a clear day you can see lots from Richmond Park.

For North London, you could try going past Alexandra Palace, I suggest going east to west - from Alexandra Palace rail station to Crouch End. Provided you like a bit of an incline... The views are great.

You could head east from Greenwich toward Erith along the Thames, you'll get some
views you'll not find anywhere else in London, very industrial and untouched in a 28 days later kind of way. Also the Woolwich ferry will take you north of the river where
you try and pick up some very under used paths at Beckton which will take you to some very long cycle paths heading east at alfreds way (A13).
Then again if want to almost forget your in London you try the canal route heading from
limehouse up to Lea Valley.

Moonio, I get the impression you're based down in the south east.
A couple of Sundays ago I went with a friend from Deptford to Waterloo, took the train to Kingston and then we stitched our way back over all the Thames Bridges, returning by the Greenwich foot tunnel. I think it was 24 bridges and a tunnel. A very leisurely ride (friend insisted on taking a picture of every bridge), just over 40 miles. Very enjoyable. A bit boring if you like hill climbs though.
I used to do that riverside route to London Bridge - it always amazed me how you could get so close to London with hardly seeing another person and with such a sense of space that you get from being on the river bank.
Down to Woolwich and over the ferry (bikes are let off the ferry first!) and then tracing your way back to the Greenwich tunnel is pretty enjoyable - some very interesting architecture - from disused industrial buildings to the curious Thames Barrier Park and the ''hanging garden'' on the Lea River bridge.
And as a gateway to East London, there's the cycle path along the canal/Lea Navigation from Limehouse Basin, up past the Olympics site, Hackney marshes and reservoirs. I've only taken it up to Waltham and back but it's a pleasant ride, pretty varied - lots of boats and water birds, old and new buildings jostling for a waterside space and very little traffic. Oh, and, you guessed it, not many hills
EDIT: oops, I see RedGT has just covered some of this.
