Hi. Don't know where to begin.
Trying to decide on first road bike, but needs to be a bit of an 'all-rounder'. Any suggestions?
£600 max- Flat bars preferred to drop
Intended uses:
- General leisure rides, including hills / passes in the Lakes (e.g. hardknott pass)
- Fitness training / hard rides with sprints / efforts / club rides
- lightweight touring (needs to take rear paniers & carry about extra 10kg? - I'm about 65kg), about 50-60mile per day
- long rides up to 100mile
- maybe a couple of tri races year (Sprint or Olympic distance).
Anything spring to mind, or am I asking too much?! Can't buy 2 bikes!
p.s. Have thought about the Giant FCR 2, but would I get away with fitting gear? Are they any good for the cash?
Advice needed.
Cheers.
SG.

Get a Boardman and decide if you want to go the rad/drop route or the hybrid route?

that's a tough spec for that price range, but something like the Ridgeback Horizon would probably be good for most of it. Doesn't have flat bars, but realistically for the kind of use you are describing, drops would be better anyway.....
