Well, just picked up my new Trek 69er and wonder what other riders do regarding spare tube on rides. Do you take both tubes just in case or can you make a 26" tube work on the 29r wheel, just to get you home?

Surely it would be better to take a 29inch inner tube ?
I reckon your better with a 26 tube inside the 29 than vice versa, bunching up an oversize tube is a recipe for the tube getting pinched by the bead or creased and rubbing thorugh itself.
A Friend has a 36er and uses 29er tubes in that (as 36er tubes weigh nearly 1Kg!)
