Deignan extended his contract with Cervelo to ride through 2011.
Valverde has no issues with Contador joining Caisse:

Guess this can be officially updated to include Evans going to BMC.

According to the comic, Sky will announce their final tranche of signings, by Friday.
DB is quoted as being excited.
Are there any Scandanavians left for him to bag?
Meanwhile, in the Cafe, there is much speculation that Sky won't get a TDF invite, but none going against BMC.

You could leave out Cervelo if Sastre skips the Tour, surely.
Say what you want about BMC but they'll be able to field a better squad than quite a few others.

And rightly so. Evans and Ballan vs Boasson and Flecha?
Still it won't be Sky that has to worry. Lotto (Gilbert announced he's not doing the Tour again) and Milram looking flimsy, and Vacansoleil might have their high hopes after the Feillus recruitment going donw a bit.
BTW, I think Cervelo with Hushovd is quite safe, even without Sastre.

Andalucia-Cajasur has signed Jose Angel Gomez Marchante from Cervelo.
Quite a few leaving the ship.

If it is Sastre that joins Sky, then it kind of adds to all the rumours at the start of the year about CTT needing a 'proper' sponsor at some point. Also it's been suggested that some of the other technical partners/sponsors are footing the bill for individual riders who represent their interests.
They really will look a bit toothless for the GTs, though it'd be nice if some teams did just stand up and say, "Yeah we're not really interested in the GC. A couple of stage wins and a focus on one-day races is our raison d'etre." After all there are more chances to win those than there are to win GTs.
Still think Vacansoleil are a shoe-in for next year's TdF, potentially taking the Vacansoleil slot. Lotto should be ok as the race visits Belgium, and as the only German team you'd expect Milram to be kept on regardless of ability for commercial reasons. Reckon Lampre could be the ones on dodgy ground.

Even with Petacchi? Surely a green jersey contender?

Sastre has already said he won't ride the TdF next year so why bother signing him if you're ambitions are only for the Tour?

He didn't say this, but was misquoted. He said that he is undecided as to which two GTs he'll ride next year, and is waiting until the Vuelta route is published next month before deciding.

ASO aren't his biggest fans though are they.

Cipo and Domina Vacanze were left at home in 2003 and,,,, he had the Rainbow jersey that year.

Thanks for the precision andy p but, still, for a climber, you would think the Vuelta and Giro parcours would be more tempting and the Tour is surely a bit 'been there, done that'?
Maybe it's David Millar and Sky are going to rebuild him as a bona fide British TdF contender?

Can't see it being David Millar- although he and DB are friendly, I doubt Sky will sign a rider who has 'previous' albeit one who is now pure as the driven snow and rides only on stale bread and pond water.
Also, Millar accept part-ownership of Slipstream in exchange for pay when he moved there.
