cant you just tighten the device up?

to remove the cranks undo all the bolts and knock the cranks off.

i undone the bolts but the cranks wouldnt come off and to tighten the device it looks like i need to tighten a lockring on the bb behind the chainring. bit annoyin this bike is only 2 days old. but they shop is in preston and im in norfolk. may have to take it to lbs, but would like not too.

They are a 3-piece crank

crank bolt and 2 pinch bolts - piece of pi55 - take you 5 mins with some hex keys.... work it out, its really easy!

The large bolt pulls the crank onto the splined spindle, and the 2 pinch bolts secure it. They are sometimes a tight fit, so a bit of WD40/lube whatever, and if they are stubborn tap them off with a mallet (protect your paintwork somehow if they are new)

ok guys, thanks! im ridden for ages lol, im not new to the scene, just never had a bike of this quality and never had this type of crank before. would explain why i havent found a puller on the net.

Cheers guys, will try this tomoro when i get home from work. also there is a tiny bit of play in the bb, if i slightly tighten the bb will the play stop? i wont over do it, just a little nip either side. will that work?

Thanks once again for the quick response, even on a sunday night! Razz
