thanks guys for your advice. I've opted away from spending more money fitting tamper proof screws and am keeping it inside. It's a shame that thieves make this happen!

As Kleber says, it's not just Astana who aren't very good at putting their hands in their pockets, look at some of the Italian teams...

But then the UCI do seem to have a proper bee in their bonnet over Astana.

Ronhill do some cycling-specific tights, called Bikesters (as opposed to their running, specific Tracksters). They are higher at the back than Tracksters, and have some reflective bits on the calves. They seem OK to me - I wear them with some shorts underneath.

Cateye flex brackets? Yeah, I catch mine too. Annoying. It's worse on my Pearson than my normal commuter. I got fed up and put a minoura space grip on the seatpin and light on that... looks funny but worked and the light is where I want it

You can try holding a metal straight edge across the rim to check how much the rim has been worn down. This won't always work though as the block might have been hitting across the full depth of the rim.

Then how do you know when it is getting dangerous? Not that I have had many fail on me in the past.

Gone for discs on my commuter for this and another couple of reasons.

If its just a zip = then yeah drycleaning place should be able to fix it. I bought my wife a nice softshell for £80 and the zip broke on that - she was going to chuck it - but I took it in and got it repaired for £10. (and she'd left a £20 in the pocket - so I was £10 up on the deal !!)

I prefer rucacs - messenger bags LOOK cool, but I run with my rucsack too.

They've resurfaced the whole of the section before the red/black splits from the blue.

I've heard of a few people having bad crashes over that first jump which always surprised me as I didn't think it was harder than any of the others on the blue.

Shame it's gone but the rest of that section has been improved - the first table top is much better now for example.

All they need to do now is resurface Spooky Woods and I'll be happy.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately the supersix is out of my price range

There's another bike from Cannondale I'm interested in, the Six Ultegra SL, and I don't know if this one would be a better bike than the Six Carbon. It has a full Ultegra groupset instead of 105, mavic ksyrium rims instead of mavic race, but an aluminium frame:

http://www.evanscycles.com/products/cannondale/six-ultegra-sl-compact-2009-road-bike-ec016607?query=cannondale%20six%20ultegra

I'd love to know the weight of these but they don't say

I seem to remember an advert from the early in the last century that featured a Sturmey Archer 3 speed in the Tour de France.

You can even get a three speed fixed wheel hub gear from S-A now.
