Don't touch the bars until you're sat on the seat, so you don't transfer any weight to the fork until you're already in the 'attack' position.

Probably. Set the sag to about 20/25% with you in attack position, in full gear and fiddle from there. Occasional bottoming out is ok or you are not using all the travel.

yeah sorry I do set sag standing in the attack position not sat down, that was a typo.

... a good day. Forks are RS Revelation RLT, 140mm To get anywhere near 20% sag (which is 28mm) I have positive chamber at 55psi and negative at 40psi. ... I am setting the sag via the bike radar approved way of standing in the attack position and measuring how far the o ring moves.
