Where did you ride today?

Got a general MTB question that doesn't fit anywhere else? Here's the place.

Sadly, I think I've stopped for some reason.
Although, I do hum the "Junior Kickstart" theme to myself quite often

I want one of the old Kellogs Cornflakes reflectors for my spokes, anyone remember them?

I think another ride is on the cards tonight, really want to start running again but the thought scares me

It would have been today if i'd joined on saturday. But i didn't.

We did the South Downs Way over the weekend, Winchester to Eastbourne.

Nothing technical but killer hills! I thought i was fit when we started, but 139 miles (route is 100miles, plus diversions for campsites, missing a signpost and ride home from train station) later i felt less so!

We had 28deg and clear skies each day which offered fantastic views but was a little too hot for ploughing up hills.

Very enjoyable ride with good friends and a good sense of achievement upon reaching beachy head.

I won't lie, i was shattered at the end. This has given me real motivation to improve my hill climbing and i've been actively seeking out any (albeit small) peaks in our local area.

The goal is to do the SDW again later this year in 2 days and then do it in 1 day next year.

I did Llandegla today and I'm still on a high from it. Never been before so was unsure about doing the black runs.. It was quality, love it.

Never been one for getting air but you cant help it, the speed you carry through some of the jump is mad. Want to.go again tomorrow.

I did both loops of the Altura trail at Whinlatter. Skies were clear, 14c, no wind, and an excellent trail made for a great days ride. Cant wait to go back there again.

Local pootling around running from the troops doing their shouting and going "bang bang". Best not to mess with them and move on. Not bad conditions after the rain.

Was shown a pretty amazing run with some incredible scenery...the photos don't do it justice. But hell, I was there to ride :D

Cannock chase monkey trail (again...). Ah well its only half hour away.

The heavy rain seems to have done some good. I think alot of the rutted trail has been washed away / filled in / smoothed off, making them better to ride. Still some heavily rutted sections though.

Only thing I'm going to moan about is the work STILL going on at the top of the monkey trail by the forestry commision (bunch of brutes). I went up there today to see what was happening and the old trail is practically non-existent. All that's left is huge swathes of deep digger tracks all over the forest. Its a real shame, I can't honestly see how they are going to rebuild that. It was supposed to be finished in April, but it doesn't say which year. Looking at it, that part of the trail isn't going to be open for a year at least, if at all. I mean look how long the rollers have been closed.

Went on an exploration mission to find some trails in my area.

Ended up doing 52k on roads on my hard tail after not finding any. Bad times.

Did a lap of Gisburn yesterday and got soaked, weather was a lot nicer today so went to Rivington. My legs are done in now.

If you rode 52km on roads in Wales and didn't find any trails, you either had your eyes shut, or were doing laps of Cardiff city centre.

Too bloody right!
Even in Anglesey you'd find something after 52K!

Haha - not to far from the truth. Lovely trails from Cardiff city centre up north and lovely trails north of Newport. Unfortunately none connecting Cardiff to Newport which meant a lot of road riding. I'll stick to Cwmcarn and Afan Forest in the future! ;)
