Where in the SE to live?

Got a general MTB question that doesn't fit anywhere else? Here's the place.

right. Solved it. ish.

Live somewhere between Brighton and Gatwick - take the London Bridge bound train but get off in Farringdon and walk the last 1 mile.

Brighton to LB is an hour....but decreasing times as you move north along the line. Add another 10 mins for Farringdon although as from next year the trains won't be stopping at LB due to them revamping the station...so should lessen the time to Farringdon by 5 mins...

Sussex has the South Downs for natural mile munching, Stanmer Park for some ok singletrack, 40 mins to the Surrey Hills in the car, Tilgate Park just south of Gatwick (developed some trails there now), Bedgebury and Friston within an hour's drive.

And the rest! Haywards Heath to Farringdon is 55 minutes, East Croydon is just under half an hour, combined with the walk there's your 45 minute commute!

The riding in Croydon isn't the best though...!
