what do you want to run them at? it'll make the difference to which bike you'll want - that's a big range.

it's a great bike, but it all depends what you want it for? for your average XC trail, it might feel like over-kill? - it's at home on ragged, super-gnarly descents.

what kind of riding do you plan to do on it?

don't need a hardcore hardtail for that do you? a normal hardtail - something like a prince albert - would suffice i'd've thought. any cwm carnage would surely be done on the full sus?

the thing about it is it would probably build up to a similar weight to your full-sus, so you got to think if you would end up using the full sus for these kinds of duties.

hardcore HT probably be heavier than that.

i know a LOT of people who have SS'd their prince albert. lots.

reckon it's your best bet. and it's very cheap for what it is too...
