I'm doing the British Heart Foundation 100 mile ride on the south downs way on the 30th of this month.

is anyone else doing it? if so, hows the training going? also, has anyone done it before?

yes, been there done it. also helped as support to five mates before that in a van, not sure which was more tiring. Dont start off too quick, eat little and often and drink plenty. Would do it again this year as I'm over fifty now, but off to morzine again for some full on fun.

Unforutnately I can't make the one on the 30th so me and 2 friends are heading off and doing it off our own backs on the 1st. It's more about being able to say we have done it rather than the time it takes us. We're planning to make a few days of it, hoping to complete it in 2, possibly 3. Don't think that's too bad considering we'll be carrying large packs and having a relatively inexperienced rider with us. (He's getting his first decent bike tomorrow)

Training wise I've been getting out whenever I can and hitting as many long climbs as possible. Bowl of pasta the night before and porridge in the morning, then taking planty of bananas come the real thing[:D]
