Canyon Nerve AL+

Postby tudj » Wed Jan 02, 2013 14:39 pm

Several months after placing my pre-order (which felt like years!) my Canyon finally turned up on New Year's Eve.

Unfortunately I can't ride at the moment due to a shoulder injury, hopefully I'll be back at it in around a month or so, in the meantime I'll just have to sit and look at it...

Very, very nice. I have the AM from last year's range and it is awesome - you'll enjoy that a lot.

That's a beautiful bike. Hope your shoulder gets better so you can get out on it!

I have no idea what's going on here.

Looking good :)

I'd switch your Reverb button to be under the LH bar. Attop bars they have a reputation of snapping in crashes

I've had a look at it this morning, I don't see how I can, mine is the lever style which mounts onto the brake mount, because of the positioning of the shifters I don't think it is possible. I'll just have to avoid crashing :P

That is stunning!

Really doesn't help me at the moment as I am trying to resist buying one until my motorbike sells (which would be quicker if I actually put it up for sale).

Cracking looking bike Mike!!

Is it 150mm travel front & rear?

Pity you're still crocked as we're off out around Stanage Edge on Saturday morning and (from what I've read, it's my first time there) that would give it a proper test.

Let me know when you're fixed and we'll arrange a ride.

Yeah 150mm.

My club are doing Jacobs ladder and Ladybower at the weekend too, so many rides I want to go on! GRRRR! :P I'm off to the docs next week, hopefully it won't be too long before I'm riding again. Looking forward to taking her out, I'll let you know when I do.

@ ali4390 - do it, you know you want to!

What club is this you talk of?

I'm often stuck with nobody to ride with, so might be interested if it's open to all.

Did it come with a mount that'll allow you to mount it onto the bars on its own?

I couldn't see one, I'll have another look through the mountain of spare bits and bobs that came in the box.

Edit -

So I had another look through, there is a spacer which would allow the Reverb remote to be mounted on the bars on its own but as that mount doubles as the brake mount I would be left with no way to attach the brake lever to the bars.

If I can find the circled part on it's own it should be do-able, I've had a quick look around CRC and Evans but have no idea what it's called

I got mine separate so had both options

From what I can remember they could be quite pricy

I just found it, it's an MMX Clamp and is £13 :/

I suppose it's cheaper and less hassle than replacing a broken remote...

Oh that's cheap for a Reverb part. I was thinking about £50, given the extortionate pricing of spares

It's used for the Avid Code brakes too, someone in my club has a spare so it looks like I don't even need to shell out £13 :D
