My ears are freezing - what are we wearing under our helmets

Postby .blitz » Thu Dec 06, 2012 12:15 pm

The other day my ears were close to falling off they were so cold. Bearing in mind there is a whole load of strappage and sunglasses going on in the ear area plus my head is massive and fits my lid like it's been poured in, what are we wearing to keep our ears toasty these days?

Had idly though about something like a Poc Receptor Bug...

...but then again maybe not :?

Any ideas welcome cheers

An ear wrap around, doesn't interfere with your helmet.

Just a buff wound into a hat for me, may also be used as a head band or a scarf...

Wonderful things!

Buff if it's cold, one of these if it's f***in freezin!

Edit:

I wear the buff as a headband so some heat can get out but keeps my ears warm

sealskinz scull cap, you get a bit of wind noise in your ears, but it's nice and warm.

RoboCap!
Has loops on the outside, to slot the arms of your shades through.

Got to be proper cold though! It's very warm.

I got one from aldi which is very thin and is fine with a snug lid. If its really cold i use a buff around my neck/face with the skull cap on top

Merino buff. Merino skullcap under helmet.

Kept me toasty yesterday at zero degrees - biting wind once out of the trees

Very thin, roubaix lycra type material.

The one I have has seams down the front, so be careful if you're going somewhere straight after a ride where looking like a klingon will not be beneficial.
