He was solo on Wednesday doing repeats of Burrington, was going up and down for hours!!

Also spotted him Xmas eve last year, it was lashing with rain all day and horrible windy too. He was climbing Belmont Hill on his way home I guess at around 3pm, looked like he`d been out all day

Where I saw him - Burrington Combe. Lovely climb. It's basically round the corner on the Mendips from its more famous sibling, Cheddar Gorge. It's generally a much better option for cyclists; less traffic, fewer dozy tourists wandering in the road and fewer death-wish mountain goats...

Always get to the top in a bit of mess, though...

That sort of riding will set him in good stead for the Ardennes...

Far nicer climb than Cheddar. I always think Cheddar is over-rated after the initial section as you leave the village, it just becomes a boring drag.

Watching the Haut Var highlights today and I'm sure Carlton Kirby expressed his disappointment that JTL was not there to defend his title with the Endura team. Hasn't he heard???

Didn't think to write in the Mendips.
Have seen him plenty since he moved to Bristol, and no joke on xmas eve I had a pass to ride for a few hours but NO WAY was I going out in that storm!

Is this like transfer deadline day when various footballers are seen at service stations and airports all over the country?

I've seen him riding a fixie up Snake Pass...

I had a chat with Harry Redknapp through the window of his car about him.

Quality! I've had a skim and it looks like a very nicely shot film. At over an hour long i'm going to save this for later and enjoy it! Cheers for the link! :D

Shame he was a "DNF" in all the ardenes classics, I know his form is not good and he was working for other riders but could have been so different had he signed for a different team. Hopefully he will have a chance later in the season.

Love to know which team would have magically given him form and given him a protected rider role. He's effectively a neo pro riding these races for the first time.
