Just got and read Tyler's book. LA comes across as
a nightmare to deal with...his demise willl not
bring change though. Only good testing will.

One of the things that I do see coming out of it that's useful, is the effect its having on other sports, with media, even fans, starting to question the lack of robustness on their AD programs, policing etc. Tennins, AFL etc as first examples...

Doping is now 'the' story in sport and I think will remain so for the next few years. I think we are going to see an awful lot of sportsmen and women found out. The media know they are onto a good thing, look how much mileage even the mainstream media got out of the Armstrong story. It'll sell print and get footfall online meaning advertising revenue. Tip of the iceberg I reckon.

Armstrong in 11th hour talks with USADA - in other news Weisel denies knowing anything about armstrongs doping, even though they were co owners of Tailwind sports.

Ah pro cycling - the gift that just keeps on giving

Armstrong to get 2 more weeks to cooperate and help clean up cycling - that's all kinds of WTF - Armstrong doesn't give a shoot about the sport only what's best or himself - can he ever be a genuine part of the solution when he's such a big part f the problem?

I like what Dennisn posts, he seems quite rational and is comfortable with his opinions and conclusions. It also helps that I agree with a lot of what he says.

If we pick and choose what dopers are worse than others then nobody has any justification to shout someone else down. You can't idolise Pantani and dislike Armstrong then preach on here to internet strangers, its deeply hyprocritical and completely personally biased.

I find quite a lot of informative comments on here and saved the forum having too many Lance A threads.
Anyway, looks like Lance will go under oath at USAD
A within the next two weeks so my question is " how will his confession differ from Oprah and how many will he name?

Hmm...I'd assume that he must have offered up some sort of bone with the last minute contact last night. Otherwise Tygart and co are just being played for fools - and last year's events would indicate that's the last thing they are.

Yesterday SCA confirmed that they're about to file their $12m suit and it also came out on Tue that he's being investigated for obstruction, witness intimidation etc. All getting too hot for LA.

If LA has dirt on Contador from his time at Astana (which he surely does), that'd be a big enough bone for Tygart.

What's Tygart's jurisdiction over Contador?

Valid point. Zip. Spanish athlete riding for a Kazakh team when they were team mates. Of course USADA could pass any relevant onto their Spanish counterparts...where it would immediately make its way through a shredder - or result in another Spanish Royal family command to leave well alone

EDIT: though Bertie did ride for Disco in 07 when Armstrong was out...though he might have something from Buryneel about that period, I s'pose.

Presumably if it does go into the realms of none US athletes then Tygart would pass the information to the relevant ADA but also send a copy of the information to the UCI and WADA to prevent it getting buried?

OCLAESP had transfusion equipment from 2009 TdF astana team and made 7 DNA matches - leipheimer had gone home, so who do you think the odd man out was, considering that bruyneel had the team riding for Armstrong?

Apologies if point has been made previously

None. Just think Tygart would like to be add another massive scalp. USADA couldn't ban AC, but would have to pass on the info. Even if the Spanish try and brush it under the carpet, the UCI/WADA would have to appeal. It'd also take the heat off Lance as it would back up his assertion that everyone was at it, and still is at it.

^BTW, I realise that there are a huge number of 'ifs' in all of the above.

This is the problem. I fancy, if LA was in fact born Juan Pelolta he'd still be regarded as the winner of the 7 TDF's. The system is all wrong.

You know, I thought about this and came to the conclusion that he hasn't got anything. Because if he had he would have surely used it, even if insinuation. He has a lot to hate Contador for - he tried to fight him and lost badly.

Rather as if wiggins had been wiggolino he might be cut less slack?

My bedtime reading SCA v LA http://www.scribd.com/mobile/doc/124384622 if you're unfamiliar with the ins and outs of the Armstrong affaire this is a very neat summation

Well I dont know, micron. I guess if your object was say, J-Rod/Nibali instead of Wiggins, and your channel for everything you say about Wiggins was the same, and many of the recipients of your social media messaging had broader reach and more take up in more countries with the likes of Twatters, do you think you would get everyone falling down unquestioningly and saying, 'my god, you are right, thank you for showing me the true way?'

You place an awful lot on your angle of 'anglos believe 'foreigners' cheat but wont believe that anglos do'. This seems to be a very convenient line of thinking for you. It is also lazy and false. We have an example of a British ex-doper riding in the peloton, we have British ex-dopers from other sports like athletics, still competing. I'm sure that this line you peddle about 'anglos' plays wonderfully to your followers. But its false and its fake.
