After his Op Puerto ban if Scarponi were to be banned for life and it affect his 2011 title-by-default, I think Michele Acqarone will actually spontaneously combust :)

Nibs likely to get a second grand tour? Would be ironic given the people on here saying there's no way he could win another.

As for Scarpo, how can he be taken seriously? "I didn't work with Ferrari. I never worked with Ferrari. OK, I did but it was just a couple of training plans and the lawyers said it was fine - we're cool, yeah?"

wow - can you actually believe that these riders are stupid enough to go near this guy - they are either incredibly badly advised or just plain stupid.

I would say life time ban - but the sport needs an amnesty now with a view to any rider testing positive for dopining after the 1st Jan 2013 - they would then be given a lifetime ban - no way back

No the same. Ferrari has been banned for a number of years and to deal with him in any capacity is an automatic suspension. Although Fuentes was as dirty as sin, it was not an offense to work with him at the time. So long as it was only for something above board, like £25k training plans. Ahem.

Is it an offence to deal with Ferrari? I know he has a ban from the sport but wasn't aware that riders would break rules if they dealt with him. (Ferrari)

I'll check the rules.

Personal contracts may restrict it though. I'd stick catch all clauses in if I were writing them.

Can someone explain something to me, I thought Italian cycling had banned Ferrari from working with all cyclists. If this is the case, why doesn't it apply world wide in the way that USADA's ban does?

I initially found USADA's ban comical as I thought he was already banned.

Well, as seems to be the norm, they'll get away with a 3 month ban over the winter i.e. sweet FA. Didnt know working with Ferrari was a no-go...my ar$e...

So of course Lampre will have Scarponi merrily riding in the Giro

'scuse while I go and kick something

I think an Amnesty would have most Pros, Neo Pros, Trackies, Cyclo Cross riders, up and coming teenagers (who fancy making a name for themselves) and possibly some Ladies too! It'll need a very large peice of paper for all the names to fit. I have no idea but a lot bigger size than A4 for sure. Maybe even A2 size of paper or even bigger than that!!!
