Do I need a drain hole in bottom bracket?

Postby bjl » Thu Dec 06, 2012 21:34 pm

I have a nice custom built Columbus Life steel frame, it's a great frame and rides like a dream, just not riding it enough as I tend to ride carbon race bike in summer, decided to put some Crudracer guards on it and ride it through winter, surprised by how clean it keeps with these guards on. Just wandering if it would be better to drill a hole in the BB to allow any water that has managed to get in to the frame to drain out, what do you reckon?

I always think it's a good idea to have a drain hole in any frame. Impossible to keep moisture out. It helps to keep the BB from rusting and any steel frame will live longer + less chance of fused seatpost and BB threads.
