Would be a great start for you if you manage to go under the hour on your first 25.

Me and my bro are doing the 25 2 up in resolven on sunday, he's in the same boat as you having never done a 25.
I've done a 53 min 25 / 21 minute 10 and he's done a long 24 10 so should be interesting lol.

.

You'll be spending a fair bit of time on the front then by the sounds of it ;) have a good one on Sunday.

Well its over! his first 25 and despite being a fair bit slower I paced it quite well I thought, tough to hold back but I didnt have much choice and came back with a 58:55 giving us 6th place overall and 3rd fastest club team and a 30 quid prize. Our tactic was he does the first mile and I do the other 24 and it worked well lol

Well I've ordered some cheap 90 and 110mm stems to try putting myself a bit further forward. Hopefully this will tame the twitchiness as well as stretching my back out a little further and bringing my arms to a slightly off-vertical which I've heard is generally desirable to reduce frontal area. It does feel a little cramped on the 70mm and nothing like the comfortable position I had on the road bike.

Nice ride, nice bike and nice position.

I did this ride with a friend at the weekend as well - we shared the work changing every half mile to mile depending upon course.

Managed a 1.02.43 and placed 18th so still in the top half, we were pleased with that.

Position wise here is me (in front to the left) not got the flexability of my team mate but that will come as the season progresses.
Interestingly the position was very comfortable for an hour out on the road, but I struggle with anythnig greater than 15 minutes on the extensions when on the turbo.

Yup, weather was good - a bit windy but sunny and warm.

And yes, MGAlex was my partner. He has second claim at Ajax and we are 'evenly matched' :)

He's my friendly arch nemesis when it comes to TTing. We were extremely close at all distances last season. It's good to have a friendly rivalry to spur you on. Sounds like I have to watch out for you too now :)

Fancy our 10 on R10/17 April 14th? or the 2 Llandovery based TTs the following weekend?

I fancy doing the R10/17 did a 21 on there last year but im fairly sure im alot quicker now, Is it the 10 and the 30 in Llandovery? I'll probably do both the Llandovery 30 was my first ever open TT last year and I think I did a 01:19:58 so im hoping to knock 10-12 minutes off that this year

Yes the 10 on Saturday afternoon is part of the new Celtic Series and the 30 is on the Sunday morning. I fancy trying both. Never ridden either course.

I rode the 10 last year aswell, not a fan of the course with a turn in the middle of the road, I like a nice roundabout :P
The 30 isnt too bad the backroad from Llangadog to Llandovery is a bit crappy but once your back on the main road its fine.
Looking forward to the mountain climb and the R25/4 (Llandovery to Llandeilo and back) I've done the 25/3 and
I much prefer the 25/4 despite it being obviously alot slower, lovely course!

if you were to take 12 min of 01;19;58 on the R30/5 it would put you in tuch with course record
my best on ther is 01;09;?

R10/4 Llandovery isn't quick about the same as cwm rheidol 10

What is the Cr on that course anyway? Fairly sure Kieron has it
I did my club 30 at the end of last year and did a 01:11:10 which is probably a similar course
Fairly confident I can do under 01:10:00 anyway

No body seems to keep records these days , i know for certain John Pritchard held it in 1998, with a 1:08:31.
In 2000 , Paul Osbourne took that down to long 1:07:, from there , Martin sage ( J P`s son-in-law ) took it down to 1:07: 30 something in 2001. To put martins time in context , he was regularly riding 48`s down the bank at that time.
God im sounding old.

That's fine. I wasn't expecting a drag strip. Just like to try different couses out. Especially ones so 'close' to home.
