Will Kids Be Able To Join In Activities?

Postby lolly29 » Thu May 14, 2009 13:27 pm

Hi There,

The weekend sounds great and i'm going to be bringing my 8yr old bike mad son on our first camping trip!
Could you tell me will he be able to join in the Cycle Active pump and jump dirt jump school as it's right up his street & his cycle club would never teach any of this kind of thing!
Also are there any other workshops/races he can join in?

Also which bike should he bring - mountain bike/road bike - both?!

Many Thanks

Lorraine

Hi Lorraine,

Apologies for the delay.

I've just been speaking to the guys at CycleActive who tell me that it'll be best for your son to attend the junior skills school ( http://live.bikeradar.com/whatson/super ... -for-kids/ ) which is being run by the same people as the Pump and Jump skills school.

If the instructors feel that your son is capable of handling the Pump and Jump course, he'll be free to hit the Pump and Jump course, under their supervision and with your permission.

There'll be other bikes available for you son to demo on the mountain bike demo loop, and he'll be able to ride the Donington track too. Please note that you'll have to ride with him though.

Sounds brill thanks for your help,

If I need to ride with my son will there be a demo bike for me to ride save hauling my old mountain bike all the way there!!

Thanks

Yep you'll be able to demo the bikes too - no need to bring your own :D
